Carfax reports....

Does anyone have access to Carfax reports? My daughter's car gave up the ghost over Christmas break and we are needing to get another vehicle for her. We may of found a 2017 Chevy Equinox that would work. Of course, we would have our mechanic inspect it, but I was hoping to run a Carfax report on it. Also, does anyone have any experience with this type of car? If you are willing to share a Carfax report with me, please message me and I can provide a VIN.

Thank you,

Fat E

I don't have access to Carfax but my daughter has a 2018 Chevy Equinox. We have been extremely happy with the car. I think the differences between the 2017 and 2018 are primarily cosmetic.
The only issue(s) we have had are replacing the battery and replacing the two windshield washer nozzles that got clogged.
Otherwise the car has been solid. Car has more cargo capacity than anticipated, especially when the back seats are laid flat. My daughter had it packed to the gills multiple times moving in and out college after each year.

The battery dying was a weird one because the car went completely dead. Couldn't start it with a jump box or jumper cables. Took a chance, pulled the old battery and put in a new one and started right up. Just thought it was odd, we couldn't jump start it.

The battery was so dead, the computer could not function. Had that happen with a van. Daughter has a 2015 Equinox. Solid vehicle.

Paging hometeam. Also hit him up if you're in the market for a Honda.

Having a good mechanic give it a thorough once over is more reliable than Carfax... a LOT of repair shops don't report to them

I think carfax only shows what has been reported to it's insurance company in the form of a CLAIM . BUT, I could be wrong.

Car fax shows everything reported to them. Has nothing to do with insurance. We had McCarthy Chevy repair the $10k hail damagee on our Equinox. Thought I was gonna take in in the shorts when we traded it it. Not a peep. Turns out McCarthy doesn't report to Car fax.

When we traded it in, we mentioned that it had some hail damage that was repaired. We did NOT say it was (or wasn't) $10k worth of hail damage.

Fair enough. Didn’t know.
hometeam has helped me before so I heaped the praise on him.

hometeam has run a Carfax for me; he is indeed the man.

Anyone else have experience with Chevy Equinoxes? Anything in particular to look out for? (Will actually be having two mechanics check it out).

Thanks!

Funny but the dealership had my 2018 Honda Accord and now my wife's 2025 Honda Accord automatically registered with Carfax so I get routine reports for both vehicles. :thumb:
