Eli benefited from some great running backs, a great offensive line, good TE play and receiver play. When those things are absent (as they've been for the past few years), he and the Giants struggle.
Rothlisberger's 6'6 and 270 pounds. His offensive line can't hold blocks for 10 seconds while he runs around and improvises. He's also benefited from Heath Miller, Hines Ward, Mike Wallace and Santonio Holmes (not to mention the Bus). When those guys have failed to deliver, so has Ben (see the recent 8-8 seasons).
