And this is everything that is wrong with the party. Didn't go far enough? They've destroyed their brand with the American public.
The tea party doesn't understand how business works. In business, the best leaders choose their battles and concede when needed. The tea party doesn't get that. They're so busy fighting battles that they believe they win if they stick to principle, even if they lose the actual war. Ron Paul, for all his principle, has been very unsuccessful getting legislation to actually pass. These people should be influencing policy. Ted Cruz is a perfect example of why they shouldn't be leading its execution.
