I swear they had a bet to see who could manage worse, last night got really brutal starting from Matheny letting Joe Kelly hit in the bottom of the fourth on. Lot fingerprints on that game and none of them doing anything to tip the scale in their favor.

From looking at the PBP, it looks to me like Matheny did a pretty flawless job last night. He got Choate in at the right time, even though it didn't work. He wasn't afraid to go to Siegrist, and he got Martinez out of there as soon as it was clear that he didn't have it.

Letting Kelly hit in the bottom of the fourth was a pretty bad decision and his hook has continued to be dangerously long. He manages his pitchers like this is a game in May.
