A microwave was assumable since the idea is to interrupt a vehicles ignition signal with intense radio frequency interference, but this applies to what I was talking about in my previous post. It only works at a very short range and often still wonít work without raising the hood.
As to the bolded part, donít think so. Iíve worked with transmitters that had to be liquid cooled, several thousands of transmitted watts, and while a person could be severely injured/killed by standing in front of one long enough they do not generate enough heat to combust construction materials like wood. They most definitely do not generate enough heat to melt through steel either. A laser could be used to do that but again it would be so large, and would require so much energy to run, that itís impractical to transport in anything smaller than a jetliner, or possibly a train.
