I live very close to Sugar Creek. It is NOT a shit hole. It's a nice, hilly, charming old school community with great people, nice, well kept homes and multiple generation families.
From 1920 to 1980 it was a Standard Oil Refinery town. The refinery closed in the early 1980's and was dismantled. There's still a large gasoline storage facility on the bluffs of the Missouri River, and a big percentage of KC's gasoline comes from that facility. Sterling, which is Main Street, is a 25 mph road with small family owned businesses. It's a nice place.
The weird thing about this Nazi guy is, most of Sugar Creek's residents are Eastern European immigrants, like from Poland, Croatia, Yugoslavia, Bulgaria, Romania, etc. Names like Dumsky, Berislavich, Vukovitch, Olinsky, Wershinski, Salva, etc. Most of the town's old families are Catholic. The Nazis sent many Eastern Europeans into either slave labor or to the gas chamber, and the KKK hates Catholics, so this Buddy Rumble guy better watch his ass. Sugar Creek is not a good place for him to live.
