I heard some discussion recently about RFID technology and how it could streamline some of the record keeping in healthcare. The idea is embedded in the new Health Care system rules but the basis is there. Government is mandating new electronic record keeping for Doctors and hospitals and Pharmacies.
RFID chips would link the person to the records and avoid misidentification by people…docs, nurses, administrators. It would also link to billing and insurance systems.
They have been chipping pets for sometime with dog owner info that vets can access and pet adoption agencies and animal shelters.
People seem very willing to say this can't be done but it can.
