This talking point cropped up amongst bitter Mizzouchebags (redundant) after the Orange Bowl snub. And it's embarrassing you are trying it now. The Fiesta Bowl didn't become a major/BCS equivalent bowl until the 1980s. MU played in the 2nd one in 1972, it was before Christmas, and considered a minor bowl like most you go to. MU was unranked at kickoff. MU finished 7-5 that year and played a WAC team. In true Mizzou fashion, you lost.
