Alex Smith has not been helped much by the guys around him. But Avery looks like a pretty damn good No 2 WR if you add 3 TDs and 150 yards to his stat line (which you would if Smith could throw a deep ball). Bowe's abilities are proven at this point. I have no problem with a comment about how bad the TEs have been, but the same argument doesn't hold up on the WRs for me. They're not elite, but there's enough there to be pretty good.

Exactly.
Bowe is a 1000 yard WR with trash like Huard, Thigpen and Cassel, but he's a POS with Smith?
It's comical how all offseason people talked about how talented this team is, what a great addition Avery was going to be, etc - yet now, they are all trash in an effort to exonerate Alex Smith for poor play.
