Honestly five factors caused us to lose last night.
1. Turning the ball over in scoring position right after a big turnover.
2. Receivers couldn't seem to catch.
3. Lack of a pass rush on Manning.
4. Poor play calling inside the five yard line. We settled for a FG instead of a TD.
5. Cooper was a rookie, we knew it, Manning knew it and he was exploited. Not hating on the kid as he has been lights out all season, but games like last night will happen from time to time with any rookie.
Most thought they would get blown out by Denver, but it just didn't happen. This is a credit to the team and the coaches.
On the turnover, we failed to score and Denver drove down the field and scored a TD. That was a 10 point minimum swing (we lost by 10).
Had we been more aggressive with the ball inside the five we probably score a TD instead of a FG and that is an extra four points.
In essence, we left 11 points on the field, we lost by 10. This is also conceding the Denver TD off of our TO. Had they not scored a TD, we hypothetically win 24-20 or 28-20. This game was much closer than we thought.
