What's the difference between a regular season loss in week 3 vs. week 13? It doesn't make a difference in any other sport.
If a team like Alabama wins its first 11 games and loses its twelfth, no matter who it is against, they'll be penalized more than a team that loses its second game and wins the rest.
That type of arbitrary weighting is the single worst thing about college polls/the BCS.
If Auburn would have beaten LSU but not had that tipped ball miracle against Georgia, are they a worse team?
If it were in a playoff, it would make sense, but as is, it's a remarkably stupid system.
