I believe Tebow would have at least made an attempt to play another position if he really wanted to play football. He could have been a real difference maker at tight end for the Patriots this year.

That's a reasonable example I guess, although as far as I know, Tebow doesn't have college-level experience at another position.
I'm not saying it CAN'T be done, just that's it's nowhere as easy as some people make it sound. Big/strong/fast guys wash out of and never make it to the NFL every year. It can't be that easy to just go play a completely different position at the NFL level.
