[QUOTE=Reaper16;10352550]The SEC took the heavily-favored, #1 team in the country, who had done nothing but thoroughly destroy all opponents all season long, to within an inch of its life.

Clearly, the SEC is not unbeatable. This was a down year for the conference. But it wasn't much of a down year. FSU simply was that good.

You have to understand: there are plenty of people out there who think that the SEC's run of titles has been something of a fluke. They go on about things like Alabama's last two titles not coming against a school from a different conference, etc. This FSU win validates that loony theory in their eyes. There is a real urge to portray the SEC as less than what it is (and your posts the past few days have been the biggest example on this board).

I'm looking forward to the 4-team playoff. Now that we've seen all the games, I think Michigan State could have beaten either Auburn or Florida St in a close contest. Next year? Who knows. It is my opinion, however, that the SEC has earned the benefit of the doubt w/r/t getting a 2nd deserving team into the playoff. FSU's win doesn't change that for me. In fact, this game only bolstered my opinion there.[/QUOTE

So what happened this year tells you next year that the SEC deserves 2 teams in the playoffs?
