But on a team by team basis it can hurt an individual school. If Florida is eyeing some top recruits and they decide to go to Auburn or Alabama instead because they win the title, that directly hurts the individual team.
It doesn't do Florida a whole lot of good to lose out on some recruits to another SEC team because the other team recently won a title or big game. I don't think the coaches would find much comfort and say, "well it sucks we couldn't get the guy, but at least he will be on another SEC team so he can beat our brains in for the next three years."

Yep. That was point earlier. It's like teams say "Well we can't win it, but let's hope another team can represent us and win it." **** that. If OU can't win it I sure as hell don't want Texas or OSU taking the damn thing home. Now that kills you in recruits and limits YOUR shot to win it all.
