The truth of the matter is that Elway could not carry a team. Terrell Davis could carry a team, and he made the quarterback look better. He elevated Elway's game from mediocre to pretty good.
I don't blame you for your misperceptions. I feel bad when I see the horror in your eyes. I blame the NFL for deciding that they had to make a #1 pick into a legend just because he could throw the ball hard. They didn't just fool you - they fooled most of an entire generation. Now the historians like myself must debunk the myth and re-introduce the facts.
