Having said that, I found the moment to be horribly self serving for BO. That soldier was sent to a place we have no place being to fight in an undeclared war that BO perpetuates.
Obama's hyprocrisy in this area holds no bounds. He ran as the anti GW and become, almost imediately, GW.
BTW- this thread has been captured by the NSA.....
Well, I don't disagree with that either. Plus, it's not supposed to be what a SOTU address is about. It's supposed to be about the current condition of the country.
Interesting, I found from commentary on last night's TV that Jefferson prepared his in writing as he did not like it done as a public speech as it was too much like a "Speeches from the Throne" in England that were done at that time. He felt it was not fitting for a republic like ours and was too regal. Donger probably digs this sort of imperial pomp though.
All that is necessary for the president per the Constitution is:
"He shall from time to time give to Congress information of the State of the Union and recommend to their Consideration such measures as he shall judge necessary and expedient.”
Forbes covers it too.
Before you read the “Outside The Lines” report, consider this:
Taping the opposing team’s sideline still isn’t banned; only taping the opposing team from the sideline is illegal.
Also remember this:
Taping the opposing team from the sideline wasn’t banned until 2006, yet the report cites examples as far back as 2000. ~NESN
