AR's are definitely pricey... but the familiarity of cleaning and operation, ease of finding parts and ammo seal the deal for me.
Shotguns, shotgun pistols, handguns, larger game, smaller game... an AR in the hands of someone familiar with them can cover all of those bases in one fell swoop.
