Al Gore's documentary got the ball rolling and helped bring the issue to the public -- and there were errors within the documentary. That is well documented.
However, this idea that people have about climate change is usually as misinformed as the idea of evolution. Implying that humans have had and continue to have zero effect on the climate is ridiculous.
