Suck. I sprained my thumb in school. It took FOREVER to heal. Couldn't hardly write for a month.
I think there are some tape techniques to stabilize it but it's your thumb.

I found some on Amazon around $15-20 a piece. If the pain comes back then I'll buy them. I think the shoes helped a lot.
