Every team has hired a replay guy with all the video in a room, and their replay guy is just a phone call away.
The procedure for a close play is usually manager makes a long slow walk, meandering to the ump, taking his time, he looks back to his bench coach who is on the phone with the team's replay guy, and he gets the thumbs up or thumbs down on whether to challenge it.
Royals fans are pissed because Yost didn't go through that procedure, so we don't really know if he heard from his replay guy or not. If he went out, talked to the ump, and walked back, at least then we'd probably think the Royals replay guy probably said not to challenge, but we don't really know because Ned never left the dugout.
