The Green Bay Packers do this stuff all the time as well, and most of their late rounders don't ever amount to much, either. But the point is that they keep drafting QBs because you have no idea what's going to happen with one of them or what might happen to your starter.

So what's the matter with celebrating this pick as simply a good pick? And outside of that, what's the matter with celebrating this pick as a good pick at a position that NEVER gets drafted by this team?

****, wouldn't it be great if the Chiefs drafted 2 or 3 QBs every five or so years like the Packers do? That'd at least represent a change in this franchise's philosophy when it comes to the position.

It's a small step. A baby step. But God, wouldn't that be SOMEWHAT refreshing to see them do that?
I do like the pick. I think that Murray could be a much cheaper and better #2 than Chase Daniel.

But ultimately, I'm not gonna get real excited until I see this team take a guy that has legit #1 starter upside and with Murray, I just don't see it.

Otherwise, I agree with you for the most part. I'm mostly just responding to the "Aaron Murray was the best prospect in the draft" silliness.
