De Niro's facial knob was in it's early stages. I've done some minor acting that's required a soliloquy so I know that this is a difficult scene to pull off on a set.
One might say that Jennifer Connolly's scene would be more difficult in front of a set but I suspect body doubles may have been involved and there is no dialogue.

I wonder what the body doubles got paid. That must be an interesting chain of events on set.
"Okaaay, cut! Great starting scene, Jennifer. You can go back to your trailer now. Are the body doubles ready? Megan, Ashley, you ready? Okay, get in there and share that sex toy. Sound guys ready? Lighting guys ready? Best boys and key grips ready? Caterer ready? Okay, let's roll, and I have a feeling that this is going to require a whole lot of takes."
And now that I think about it, how many takes did it require? Were those body doubles doing that for twelve hours while they worked to get the lighting just right?
