I think Murray might be the best QB pick the Chiefs could have had. If the Chiefs were looking to draft a guy that can mentor under Alex Smith, Murray appears to be the perfect QB to do so. Everything I hear is that Murray is an incredibly smart QB, with good accuracy, decent legs and a decent arm. Who does that sound like? Murray can learn all the things that Smith has learned to be a successful QB in the league, without going through the pile of shit that Smith went through to learn it - which ultimately made Smith a bit conservative. Smith's knowledge and game are perfectly transferable to Murray and Murray appears to be willing to absorb it - directly opposite of the relationship that Smith and Manziel would likely have had if Johnny Football had been on the board and selected at 23.

I understand many people wanted to see that (Manziel) happen, but I think the way this played out, might have just created QB combo for years and years to come.
