It gets as hot in KC as it does in Florida in the summer. The only difference is that it will cool off the feels like 100 degree temps for a week or two in the summer.

I worked in Atlanta for a few months and it wasn't so much the hot and humid days, but how the humidity ruined the nice days, too.... the ~60 degree mornings in the early spring were still really muggy. Yeah, hot and humid is the same suck here or in Florida, but the humidity isn't nearly as noticeable here when it's not 85+ (at least for me).
I've been to Florida in the late fall and winter, and it's great... but, then there's the other 8-9 months of the year when people in Florida aren't bragging about the weather every chance they get....
