I distinctly remember a moment early in my career when I saw two attractive women standing at a receptionist's desk. They were both in business suits and I was sitting in the lobby, and I did the normal scan that any reasonable man would.
Again, they were both attractive. Neither was overweight at all, and one was a little bit curvier than the other one, but not by much. She may have weighed ten pounds more and they were the same height and age.
Then my eyes went down. The curvier one didn't have unattractive calves and ankles, but they weren't great. She had undefined calves so her lower legs were a little bit tubular and her ankles were similarly undefined. They weren't her strength. In contrast, the more slender one had the lower extremities of a champion. She was perfectly tapered from the knees down, with a defined calf muscle and ankles that were delicate and refined. From the knees up, you'd have to flip a coin as a tiebreaker, but from the knees down it was a complete and total rout.
