Yeah, I think so especially since the grad took Asian history as well as studied Japanese for their language. I am learning more about Japanese bar food and I think I can pull enough ideas from that to make it work for certain eaters. Like the teriyaki--although she doesn't care for that because she doesn't like any sweet with savory. But it's a good idea for others.
Just found out there's even Japanese pot stickers that are eaten more as a side dish that could go with any Japanese grilled foods.
