Not so much a dinner thing, but this is the easiest, most current tangentially relevant thread.
Great new technique in popping popcorn.
Heat the oil in cast iron and put just a couple of kernels in the pot. When those two pop pull off the heat and put the rest of the kernels in for 30 seconds or so, shake vigorously. This get oil all over the kernels and heat them all uniformly. Put them back on the heat and they are ready to pop right away while the first popped aren't sitting around waiting to burn. Pops just as fast, pops more kernels overall and no burning, . . . PROFIT!!
