I believe Glocks can take +P, but no higher.
To me, I don't understand the compromise of .40 over .45. If you're talking about personal defense then why wouldn't you choose the largest round you can shoot effectively? If you are more concerned about recoil and magazine capacity, why not just use 9mm with a premium load or whatever?
