1 in 6 people have genital herpes, a vast majority of which don't ever have an outbreak so they expose others unknowingly.

You can still contract herpes while wearing a condom (the same with the virus that causes genital warts).

Male to female transmission is much more likely than female to male transmission.

I've also read that having oral herpes, type 1, can become genital herpes, type 2, through oral sex. I'm not sure about that one though so don't quote me..
