It's not a horrible move. It's not even a bad move.
but, STATISTICALLY SPEAKING, it's the WRONG move.
Wrong EVERY. SINGLE. TIME.
When you have Wade Davis and you pitch him in 8th innings. There is NO REASON AT ALL to bring a guy out who has thrown 93 pitches who is going to face a guy who has hit a HR off of him in the game already.
It worked. It'll usually work.
it's still the wrong move...mathematics backs me up.
