I'm pondering a tournament to see which two popular TV shows draw the most opposite audience. If I did that, would it be better to ...
... stick only within one genre (e.g., sitcom), or cross genres (sitcoms, dramas, reality, etc.)
...stick only with active shows, or include prominent shows that are in syndication
...stick only to network television, or go across the spectrum
I would lean toward sticking to network television just to avoid the corruption of some people not having HBO or Skinemax or whatever. I think that's a pretty solid recommendation. On the genre and timing, I could go either way, but I think it would be fun to compare sitcoms on a direct comparison basis and also include prominent sitcoms that are in syndication. You want shows that everyone has seen or could see.
