It IS selfish to live your life the darling of the people, young and old, and then to just end it. With projects, and people, and loved ones depending on your presence. It's selfish to not think about how difficult it is for us to keep impressionable teenagers alive, already.
But it was his life. And death. We're all a little selfish sometimes. Certainly he did more humanitarian works than he did suicides.
