What made you chose the Leupold?

I've been doing a lot of research on ar15.com the past few months. I knew I wanted a short/mid range scope, and a 1-4x seemed to be the best fit. And out of all the 1-4x scopes, 2 or 3 kept popping up as the best for under $1k.
Leupold VX-R Patrol 1.25-4x20mm
Vortex Viper PST 1-4x24mm
Trijicon Accupoint TR24 1-4x24mm
They all have illuminated reticles. The Leupold and Vortex use a battery, and the Trijicon uses fiber optics. At one point or another, I had each one as my #1 choice.
But I ended up going with the Leupold, since I already had a VX-1 Rimfire 2-7x28mm mounted on one of my .22 rifles, and I was very satisfied with it. Plus it was the lightest of the 3, and made in the USA. I think Trijicons are also made in the USA, but Vortex is not.
Before I got my VX-R Patrol, I bought an Eotech 512 red dot and a TA33 ACOG. I'm building up an optics collection to go with my AR15 collection.
