I might be misremembering the circumstances of Michael Vick's dog fighting getting leaked out, but can anybody imagine the shit storm if the news was put out there after Week 1 of the NFL season, the Falcons deactivated him, and then said, "Well, we're just waiting on the authorities, and we're cooperating any way we can so, uh... might as well let him play football, right?"
Every single game, including all Atlanta home games, would be met with public demonstrations in the parking lot and in the stands. The entire game would be a chorus of boos from the crowd.
