I honestly would bring back Tobey McGuire at a king's ransom. There are probably better actors, but McGuire was truly built for the role, even if I did hate the original movies. His movies already did the hard work of laying groundwork for the characters, and people would turn out in droves to see him reprise the role.
If I had to start from scratch, which of course they would do, I'd love to see Jack Gleeson take a crack at him. I'm a big Game of Thrones fan and Gleeson is ****ing incredible.
Tristan Wilds is a black guy, so sorry if that bothers you, but he was excellent in the Wire.
They'd be more likely to bring in someone like Josh Hutcherson from the Hunger Games, I bet.
If they dare to cross the gender barrier, which they wouldn't, they should just bring in Chloe Moretz, who is the best "young" actor in existence right now not named Jennifer Lawrence.
