Google's done bad shit in both the U.S. and Europe, and has been slapped down time and again.
But my question wasn't meant to bash Google. It was a serious question about how people are weighing the desire for the item against the many known actions of the company.
I personally avoid Google like the plague, but I don't have an option regarding Google fiber in my area, so it was making me curious in regards to this specific service.
