Lamberts is a place where you CAN NOT go wrong. I've tried almost everything there [I used to do the work comp docket down the bootheel and the Sikeston Lamberts was the only decent restaurant for 10s or even 100s of miles, and I could expense the meal] and they do almost everything better than you would imagine. Nothing fancy, just homestyle cooking done great.
Personal favorite was the hamburger steak. Ground beef cooked like a steak and topped with mushroom, green pepper and onion gravy with fresh tomato slices swimming in them.
I go with collard greens and baked potato as sides.
