It has to actually hit your radar to obsess over them right? If the NFL culture is that the quarterbacks do whatever they want with the footballs to get them ready for the game, is the coach really going to argue about it with him? Would you tell a QB that he should like his footballs different than what he likes?

Tom Coughlin is as obsessive as Belichick, and there was an extensive story of how Eli Manning preps his footballs. It wasn't about Coughlin at all.
