So did I but it probably would have worked better as a mini series. Hmm, just did a search and it's only 10 episodes.. that'll probably help.
Sometimes they take these books and try to stretch them out for 20+ episode seasons and you end up with tons of boring filler. Though Under the Dome was short too (if memory serves) and it was pretty poorly done.
