I'd do it.

Not for the fans but as pure stupid pride.

There are 30 guys in the entire world that own MLB teams. If you get to all the major soccer owners, NBA, NFL and (snicker) NHL teams, you're looking at at most 200 guys worldwide in the select group of major franchise owners.

How much more fun would it be right now to be Bob Kraft and get to tell Woody Johnson to go get his ****ing shinebox?

These guys didn't get here without being psychotically type A personalities. There's no way they won't get a charge out of their team being the best.

I'm pretty sure it was Lamar that said this and ultimately it may be apocryphal, but someone once asked him how he felt about the fact that his team lost something like $5 million that year and his answer was "not too bad - at that rate I'd be broke if I lived to be a thousand".

That's the world these guys operate in. They wouldn't do it for the fans, they'd be doing it for the rush.
