It's not surprising to me that people that don't live in an NBA town and have likely never seen an NBA team live and in person, prefer the college game.

That said, Cuban is right.

The "problem" with making the changes he's suggesting is that the NCAA tournament, a gigantic cash cow for the NCAA, would be boring as hell.

The reason it works now is that athletes that have no business in the NBA can slow down a game to a point where upsets occur. If they shortened the play clock and fixed the officiating, there would be maybe 16 truly elite teams with elite athletes that play an NBA-style game. We'd see a ton of 80-40 games because there just aren't that many shooters available and with no way to slow down the opposing team, most games would end in blowouts.
