On the other hand, he could play at a doormat school in a middling conference, in a program that has a revolving door at head coach and where he isn't going to have any of the advantages that a major football program would provide in terms of the talent around him on the field and on the sideline. Unless you have eligibility problems or you don't think you can win enough playing time at a bigtime school, and you think you can start at Kansas, there's no advantage to be had at all.

How could someone advise their son or daughter to make that decision?
