It seems like the only time he can it it with authority right now is oppo or with lefty is trying to get it out and away from him and misses a little bit.
But he's definitely showing progress in that he's at least driving the pitches on the outer half now; those were slow rollers to short 2 weeks ago.

Seemed to me it was the opposite of what he needed to be doing. He came in with the mentality of hitting for more power, and kept trying to pull all those outside pitches, thus rolling them over.
if he's a gap to gap hitter with power, that's great, but he's going to get pounder inside and he's gotta flip open and be able to extend and keep it fair as you've said.
