I wasn't really feeling the dragon scene. It started off cool then kind of cheesed out there at the end. I'm not sure how else they could have pulled that off if it indeed happened that way in the book, but it came across kind of silly in a Never Ending Story (awesome movie as a kid in '84) kind of way to me.

It was similar in the books but far from exact. There was no Harpy's in the book. The fighting pit had fighters killing each other and then Drogon just comes flying down to start attacking fighters. They explained that the dragon probably just smelled the blood and meat but you don't know that for certain. Her husband orders all the guards to attack the dragon in the pit while Dany is screaming at them not to. Dany then races down into the pit and jumps on Drogon's back and is off. I may be a little off in my details but I think that is pretty close.
