It's fair to be disappointed in Heyward - I think I've gone over his WPA here but the bottom line is that a lot of his production does seem to come at times where it doesn't do much to help us win (his WPA is barely top 100 in MLB; pretty amazing for a team that's won this often).
I'm disappointed by Heyward but he's also probably the best player on the team. He's not the most valuable due to the options we have to replace him and the lack of ANYTHING Peralta or Molina.

Look at his batting stat line avg. for his career compared to this season. He's pretty much been in line with everything. The only things that might be slightly below avg. are his HRs and his OBP. He is still a fine player, he just will never be the 30 HR player people thought he could be after his rookie year.
And to PGM, who do you replace Heyward with then? Heyward/Holliday/Piscotty/Moss>Holliday/Piscotty/Moss/Pham
