Flip basically WAS the Timberwolves. Even if he had some pretty glaring faults as a coach, nobody could deny his overall track record nor his loyalty to his own players. If I had to compare it, this was the same feeling I had the day Lamar Hunt died.

Flip gave the Timberwolves the only three or four seasons they ever had to really feel good about, and he was well on his way to replicating that success as the GM of some very good drafts.

And I know how respected and loved he was by everybody in that organization. They're probably feeling pretty crushed right now.
