I support the organization's decision to bring in a proven game manger for the right price. He's not Rodgers and doesn't get paid like a top QB at 22+ million a year. His contract over its 6 year lifetime with the Chiefs will average just over 14 mil a year (seeing how he was an 8 mil a year QB for us in each of 2013 and 2014). Even if you ignore that he's getting back paid for those 2 years, 17 mil/year is still a good price as by 2017 he will middle of the pack in cost when compared to other QBs.
Look at how much other teams like Chicago and Detroit are paying for train wrecks like Cutler and Stafford for $17/mil year long term in current NFL cap terms... the Chiefs got a very, very fair deal.
