quality programming doesn't take or not take any set amount of time.
I appreciate the work that goes into a well plotted and filmed show, but let's not pretend that these people are clocking in 9-5 Mon-Fri week in, week out to craft something time consuming and intricate that's plotted from the beginning.
The delays are driven more by buffering to make room for creative inspiration, side projects, network calendars, marketing, sweeps, etc. than work rate.
Further, Saul is set in one place with reliable and temperate weather. NOt like GoT making arrangements for shoots on several continents, in several climates, often condition dependent, and usually historically protected.
Heck, Odenkirk authored, assembled, shot and broadcast a brilliant season of
Mr. Show With Bob and David in the interim. Good for him, great for us. But it gives lie to the fiction that he's been slaving away at Better Call Saul for the past year.
