Disagree. They are more passionate about 'their player' being credited for his part in the team success, but that's a different matter.
If they were here saying 'so what if the team sucks [if it happened to suck]. Alex is getting rich, and he'll soon be on a better team,' THAT would be putting the player above the team.
Seems more like they're enjoying the team, with a soft spot in their assessment for the guy who drew them here.
