Contracting got me where I am. It really gets a bad name. People don't take contracting jobs because they want more stability. But, it's an illusion. They can still get rid of you at any time. Priorties change. Business needs change. Downsizing, merges etc. Nothing to do with your job performance and you can be out on your ass.
This job would be a raise from the contracting salaries I've worked at since down here in Florida. Most money I've ever possibly made. Serious visible position with a global Fortune 150 company. Top 5 admired company. Kind of excited to get out of the contracting game for a change. So its probably going to blow up.

They hiring?
Got me where I am too. There is the saying, the best way to move up is to move on. But the ceiling has been met for me K-wise. But I do advise all my friends that lose their jobs to pursue contracting. That's where the hiring is. Adapt to it.
But... settling in somewhere is really nice. This 'stick and move' thing just doesn't allow you to really, really shine. Learning the FTE politics is easy since as a PM you always deliver and have all encompassing skills.
